•The Surry County power station is located in southeastern Virginia, on the south bank of the James River across from Jamestown.
•Owned and operated by Dominion Power.
•It is Dominion’s first nuclear station in VA.
•Generates 1,598 megawatts of power from its two nuclear reactors which can supply 400,000 homes.
•Produces more than 30% of the company’s power requirements in VA.
•Unit 1 began commercial operation in December 1972 and Unit 2 began operations in May 1973.
